Bologna
Bologna is the Capital of Emilia Romgna, in the North of Italy.and with high speed trains, just over an hour away!
The city has so much to offer in it’s compact area. Two Towers (Piazza di Porta Ravegnana) is the city’s focal point. You can climb the Torre Asinelli for a fantastic view of the red roofed-streets fanning out below.
Piazza Maggiore and the Basilica di San Petronio and Piazza Santo Stefano, an elegant broad square that’s perfect for a coffee stop after all those stairs is just wonderful.
Bologna has several nicknames – la dotta (the knowledgeable) and la rossa (the red, for its leftwing politics) – but it is la grassa (the fat) that’s perhaps the most fitting. In fact, in November 2017 Bologna opened their doors to the largest “theme park” in the world dedicated to food, wine and agriculture. Fico Eataly World is a dream for anyone that loves food, wine and getting to know how certain things are produced. The whole area promotes the excellence of Italian food and wines and has meeting rooms, industrial kitchens where we can organize cooking classes for an excellent day for your group.
