Milan and Fashion

Milan is one of the 4 most famous fashion capitals. The city is at the heart of the fashion week with a lot of activities for the public as well as the fashions shows and buying week.

Of course, for those of you that love fashion, even outside the  fashion weeks, shopping is a great way to spend a day- even if it is just “window – shopping”.

A great place to start is the “Quadrilatero della Moda”, the most important fashion district in the world, so called because it is bordered by four streets: Via Monte Napoleone, Via Alessandro Manzoni, Via della Spiga and Corso Venezia. The prominent designers all have stores in this very chic area of the city.

Made in Italy also dominates in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, a commercial gallery with boutiques, like that of Prada, cafes, incredible pastry shops and restaurants. Not far away is the Rinascente, an established building in the Milaness history and the seven levels of the store, offer everything from designer fashion to high-tech items with a fantastic food floor with cafes and restuarants with an incredible view of the Duomo!

Smaller independent designer shops can be found in the Brera district and near the canals, and near the MICO exhibition centre, there is the super modern City Life Shopping District, home to the largest outdoor mall in Europe.

For those who want to give a touch of history and culture to this itinerary, we recommend a stop at the Costume Fashion Image Museum located inside Palazzo Morando and at Armani / Silos.
