Classic Milan
Milan is the capital of Lombardy. Known throughout the world for being the capital of fashion and design, it is a also a metropolis rich in history and culture.
The symbol of Milan is the Duomo. A gothic style cathedral, which is topped by the famous golden Madonnina statue on the top spire, that looks over the whole city. It is possible to get onto to the roof of the Duomo and enjoy a splendid view of the city and on a clear day, right to the alps!
Just in front of the Duomo is the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, that is a very elegant covered gallery, housing shops, restaurants and café’s. It is possible to climb to the roof of the gallery, the path is 250 meters long, and there are panels that explain the history of the gallery and a lighting system for night visits.
Another symbol of the city is the Castello Sforzesco. One of the largest castles in Europe, it hosts museums and cultural institutions, and is also located right next to the Sempione Park.
For art lovers, visits to the Brera Art Gallery and Leonardo da Vinci’s Last Supper is part of a historical church are classic places to visit.
